Tahini will easily last about 2 years out of the fridge. But, we recommend refrigerating your jar once it is open. This will keep it fresh and slow down the separation of natural oil in the sesame seeds, which may start to occur after a few months. If you notice that your tahini has a layer of oil at the top, all you need to do is stir it back in.
We sell two types of halva. One is vegan and the other type contains a small amount of clarified butter. For both types of halva it's best to store it in the fridge.
The halva will last approximately 4-6 months, but we hope you eat it all before then! You should never freeze halva as it will damage the delicate, flaky texture.
Your halva will come packed in a specially designed wrapping paper that is oil resistant and impermeable. You can leave the halva in this paper or transfer it into an airtight container.
If you have a sesame allergy, unfortunately you will need to stay away from all of our products. Every Seed + Mill product contains sesame seeds.
A lot of the halva flavors, including but not limited to all the chocolate flavors, contain soy lecithin.
The following halva flavors contain nuts: Chocolate Pistachio, Crunchy Peanut Butter, Pistachio, Marzipan, Nougat, Nutella & Hazelnuts, Salted Caramel, Sugar Free Pistachio, Sweet Pecans.
Seed + Mill halva is made in a facility that contains nuts so there is a chance at cross-contamination. All of our products are gluten free and egg free.

Our halva and some of our tahini is made in Israel. It is certified Badatz kosher when made in Israel and when it arrives packaged in our store.
At our store in Chelsea Market we freshly grind some of our tahini and we also slice, wrap and weigh our halva at the store. We have a local kosher certification from United Kosher Supervision. However for our locations in Whole Foods Market Bryant Park, Tribeca and Williamsburg, we do not have a local kosher certification for the freshly milled tahini nor the halva.
