🌞 Summer Shipping Update (June 15–September 15)
To keep your halva fresh during warmer months, any order that includes halva will ship via 2-day express with ice packs. A $12 summer shipping surcharge will apply to cover these additional costs. If it’s over 100°F where you are, we may hold your order until temperatures cool down a bit—we’ll reach out to you directly if that’s the case.
Storing Halva
We recommend popping your halva in the fridge upon arrival, but don’t worry if it’s spent some time in the heat—it can handle it!Halva doesn’t technically need refrigeration—it’s traditionally sold in open markets under the desert sun. That said, keeping it cool helps reduce natural oil separation, which happens when halva gets warm. If your halva looks a little oily, just pop it in the fridge—everything should reabsorb within an hour. (And if you like it soft, you’re in good company—we do too!)
Halva Cakes Shipping Reminder

- When will my order arrive?
-
We ship orders using FedEX, UPS, and USPS. Orders will generally be delivered within 5-6 business days of being shipped. For Hawaii, Alaska, and locations on the West Coast, please allow a little bit more time for your order to arrive. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a specific delivery date. Once your order ships, you will receive a confirmation email and tracking number.
During the busy shipping months, it might take a little longer for your package to arrive.
- How much does shipping cost?
-
We offer free shipping on orders over $50. Otherwise, shipping is a flat rate of $10, with the exception of a flat rate of $35 for all orders being shipped to Alaska and Hawaii. As a small business, we're trying our best to keep shipping costs low, but unfortunately we're unable to offer free shipping across the board.

- Why did my box arrive oily?
-
If you see any oil stains on your box, please reach out to us atinfo@seedandmill.comASAP (and send a photo if you can) so we can help! Unfortunately, from time to time our tahini jars and halva will leak. Since our products are all natural, we don’t use any artificial stabilizers or palm oil, which would minimize the separation of oil. This is good news for the foods you put into your body, but it doesn’t always look great! Oily halva is perfectly safe to eat and will firm back up as soon as you put it in the fridge. Oily tahini will be fine once you give it a stir. Our tahini is shelf stable - it lasts unopened for 2 years, and opened for 12 months, when stored in a cool, dry place.
- Why has my halva turned oily or soft inside the box?
-
We only use natural ingredients in our products, which means that sometimes the natural sesame oil will leak. This is nothing to worry about. If you want to know the truth, we actually prefer our halva eaten a little on the oily side! But, if it’s bothering you, the oil will be easily reabsorbed if you place it in the fridge for an hour or two. Or, you can slice off the edge and find perfectly ‘unoily’ halva inside! Either way, it is safe to eat and will taste great!
- Do you accept returns?
-
As a small company, we do everything we can to make your shopping experience a positive one. If you are not satisfied with your order, pleasereach out to uswithin 7 days of receiving your order so we can understand the issue better and try to make things right! As a food business, we cannot accept product returns, but our customer service is something we take very seriously and we will always try to listen to your concerns and resolve any issues in a way that is satisfactory.
