SHIPPING:
We wanted to share some info about summer shipping, as we get lots of questions on this as the weather heats up!
We are currently shipping all orders containing halva via 2-Day Express, Monday-Thursday. Note that orders placed Thursday-Sunday will be shipped the following Monday.
Heat is not halva's best friend: Make sure to place your halva in the fridge upon arrival. But, there's no need to panic if it's been out of the fridge in transit or waiting for you on your sunny porch!
Technically, halva doesn't require any refrigeration. In fact, it's typically sold out in the hot desert sun throughout the Middle East. But, we still suggest keeping it cold to stop the natural separation of oil that occurs when halva gets hot. Why not embrace any oil separation as a sign of a natural product, made with clean ingredients! We actually prefer to eat halva on the softer side. Either way, if your package is oily, it should all reabsorb within an hour once you place it in the fridge.
Please reach out to info@seedandmill.com if you have any specific concerns or questions about your package. -
TART CHERRY: sesame seeds, cane sugar, glucose, cherries (Montmorency tart cherries, cane sugar, sunflower oil), raspberry paste [glucose syrup, invert sugar syrup, raspberry pulp, citric acid E330, ethyl alcohol, elderberry concentrate, starch, natural flavoring), saponaria extract. Contains sesame.
The halva is certified kosher by the Rabbinate of Ashdod. Please email us if you would like to see the certificate. -
The halva pieces are packed upside down in a protective container. Flip each piece out of the container onto a cutting board when ready to serve.
Halva lasts for 4-6 months when stored in a cool, dry place, but we hope you eat it all before then! You can leave your halva in the small containers it ships in or in a similar airtight container. We don't recommend freezing halva, as it will damage the delicate, flaky texture.Check out our recipe page for creative ways to use halva in your kitchen.
